THANK YOU. THE TREE WAS IN THE 10 FT EASEMENT.
THE UTILITY COMPANY (SDG&E) GAVE ME NOTICE THAT THEY WANTED TO TRIM BACK THE TREE ONE MONTH AGO AND DID SO.
THEN TWO WEEKS LATER THEY CAME IN WITHOUT PERMISSION AND CUT DOWN THE TREE THAT THEY HAD TRIMMED.
MY QUESTION IS SHOULD THEY NOT NOTIFY THE PROPERTY OWNER THEY INTEND TO CUT DOWN A TREE THAT HAD BEEN TRIMMED BY THEM ,-AND NO LONGER A THREAT TO POWER LINES?

The cheapest recourse you have (cost to you wise) besides suing is to file a claim with the city and the utility for damages getting a cost on what it would take to replace the damaged trees with the same tree (same size, etc) as what was there before it was damaged. Get a claim form from the city and then you'll have to get estimates to show the damages and you'll need before and after pictures.
