My vehicle registration was suspended in Pennsylvaina for an insurance laspe. The vehicle was registered in both my husband's and my name. Can I just get a new plate and regiter the vehiche in my name to avoid the suspension? What would be the outcome if I did this?

Dear Malloy

You will not be successful in trying to fool the State of Pa. When you apply for tags and registration as the vin number of the vehicle (which is attached to the title), as well as proof of insurance is required. Therefore, when they run the vin number they will see that it has already been suspended for lack of insurance.

This could potentially turn into a charge of fraud, which could carry a prison sentence of up to 10 years and/or a fine.
