Absolutely, the restraining order has nothing to do with the grandparents. The restraining order is only against his wife and his son. The mother of course has the right control who her children speak with and unfortunately grandparents do not have automatic rights to visit or contract their grandchildren. But the restraining order is not in place to deny the grandparent any contact, it is to restrain the son only.
