If the deceased owns real estate or personal property in Alabama, then you should file the will in Alabama. My suggestion is to file the will in the state with the most assets of the decedent or the state that has the most contacts with the decedent. The state where the will was last adjusted and filed seems to have a number of important contacts to the will. If that is the state where the will was filedIf the person died in Florida, but lived his or her entire life in Alabama, then file it in Alabama or the state with the most contacts.
