Hi,

You should appeal if the decree is recent. If not, move in court for a downward modification. If you can prove that you really have no income, you won't go to jail. It is a heavy burden and if you already tried because the decree is recent and your arguments were rejected by the court.............even more difficult. Finally jail is possible if you have quit a job or otherwise rendered yourself unable to pay. These awards are based on actual income and your ABILITY TO PAY BY BEING EMPLOYED.
