Georgia code has nothing specifically criminalizing the publication of a person's bank statement without consent. There are federal and state laws under the Financial Privacy Laws which prohibit a financial institution/lender to disclose publish or disclose financial information without the owner's consent, but this does not regulate the actions of a private person.

The owner of the bank statement does have the right to file a tort/civil cause of action under an invasion of privacy; and request damages resulting from the publication. It is possible that your local county may specifically criminalize this, so you should contact your local District Attorney to verify this information.

You can review the GA penal code for verification here. (scroll down to Title 16 crimes and offenses).

Thank you for your response. Sorry for the delay, I was researching the Georgia Codes to see what could apply. Again I did not find any laws which would control this act specifically. However, since she has taken your private information for her own use against your consent or under a lawful purpose you can press charges under theft by taking. Below is the code section for your review.

TITLE 16. CRIMES AND OFFENSES
