What is required to file a lien on a boat for repairs ...

What is required to file a lien on a boat for repairs done that have not been paid for? My husband did the repairs and we still have possession of the boat. The boat is titled to a man that has passed away and his daughter wants the boat. She had the repairs done after his death.
