Question

My neighbor erected a privacy fence on the boundary ...

Sent to Legal Experts February 12 6:19 p.m.

My neighbor erected a privacy fence on the boundary line (18" into my driveway made of concrete) for retaliation for putting our white picket fence up around our yard. They installed the fence over our 3'' driveway easement all the way down our single-lane driveway. Because my neighbor kept using my driveway (as revenge) I called the City Police. The City has now told my neighbors they have to remove their fence and move it 3'' back. My question is this: My husband and I want to then put up a fence on the boundary (inside our easement) of about 36'' to keep our dogs in. The neighbors need to remove their fence off our driveway easement, but can we erect a fence along a small area on our boundary line inside of our own easement? This easement is for driveway purposes only, as this is a subdivided lot.

But the fence would be on the boundary line, and the easement is for our use only, so we would only be blocking ourselves.
