At first glance, Erwine Home Health and Hospice seems to be an extremely reputable agency as it is approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Health Division of Home Health Services, Medicare and Commercial Insurance and is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Home Health Agencies. Erwine also received Joint Commission Accreditation with Commendation in 1995 and again in 1998, 2001 and 2004. In 2006 Erwine received CHAP Accreditation.
The mere fact that it had JCAHO accreditation in the past, but not since 2004 is reason for concern. I would suggest contacting JCAHO and also call the Pennsylvania Dept. of Health
