How can someone get out of a military commitment once they have signed, and been sworn?

Already Tried:
Appealed before the review board - claimed to be the only one to carry on the family name, and I am.

About the only way to get out with an honorable discharge is to have a medical problem arise. Others have also used the gay route of being a little more outspoken then not (even if not gay). I know that one sounds odd but it has worked. You have a signed contract and your under a commitment to follow through.

Failure to measure up to the military codes will also allow for a discharge of dis-honorable which is what you do not want. Try to go with a medical of some type if at all possible.

You may also contact your local Congressman to see if they can intervene due to the last name issue. This too may work but they will ask why did you not think of this before enlisting.
