Reply to Darren Kennedy's Post: Hi Mr. Kennedy -
It's a criminal case for theft. A state jail felony to be exact. According to our attorney we were CHARGED but not CONVICTED. I'm a little fuzzy as to the difference myself, but nonetheless I feel we were misrepresented and mislead by our attorney. We were told things that weren't true. He personally knows/knew the judge who listened to our case (so well infact that they spent Thanksgiving together last year). The party that charged us was willing to let the charges be dropped, but the Cheif majestrate said no, since it was an election year. There are many more issues I have and just need to know where exactly to start and what to do. I'm on probation for 3 years and having to pay restitution and so on....from what we were told we have no right to appeal the case? That was per our attorney whom represented us last year when all this took place. I've since been informed if we were misrepresented that does not hold true. That's the reason for my question. Hope this helps.
