Sent to Legal Experts July 10 04:29 PM

What is the normal time span to have a record exponged?

My case was dropped (misdermeaner) and the necessary papers have been sent to my lawyer over a year ago (certified) August of '05. (went to a police station and was fingerprinted etc).

I still have no response or returned calls from my lawyer to let me know the status.

Isn't there a rule about good business practice on the lawyers side to give information to their client? What are my options?

Don't I have rights to have status and what is going on?

Isn't there a rule about good business practice on the lawyers side to give information to their client? Yes it is that is why your paying him to work for you.

Isn't there a rule about good business practice on the lawyers side to give information to their client? If your paying him or not (pro bono) yes he has to keep you informed and talk.

Don't I have rights to have status and what is going on? Yes demand them.

what I do not understand and I do not know your criminal history is why use an attorney when this is free to do.

Go to www.fdle.state.fl.us and look for expunged of records. Some are much harder to do and this may be your case. But FDLE out of Tallahassee does all the processing for this. You can actually walk into the lobby and make an appointment to do this. The fee varies from 45-75 dollars.

Hope this helps.
