What is lemon law in State of Kentucky
Sent to Legal Experts June 11 12:46 AM

I went to a dealer and after a salestalk when the manager stated to me that in order for me to have the car I wanted ,the only way he can give me adeal is for him to cut me a check of $10,000.00 and zero downpayment. The offer seems too good to be true that I said to the manager, it seems to me a fair deal. However whenI arrived home and had the time to really read what I signed, I noticed that the price that was given on the papers is $54,533.25 . The tag price of the car with the same options, was only $44.533.25 so I know that right there and then, there was no deal at all, since when the manager stated that he will cut me a check of $10,000. with zero downpayment, the price will be still the same as the tag price. So I want to know ,what is a lemon law in the state of Kentucky. Am I correct to say that the Lemon law is that I have 3 to 5 days to think if I really wanted to buy the car?   The Mileage is not that big difference when I have the car since I just drove the car from the dealer's place to my home.

Hi Rocky, Is this a used car or a new car?

The "lemon law" only covers cars that are defective.

What you're thinking of is a "cooling off" period, which is not applicable in the state of Kentucky. Once you sign the contracts for the car, that's it. I'm sorry to have to tell you that, I know full well how it feels to be bamboozled by a slick talker.

Check this link for additional info, (scroll down to Educational/General Comments), first it talks about used cars and the second part talks about new cars.

Also, there is more info here

I hope this helps, if you have any further questions, please feel free to ask it costs nothing to click reply. If this has helped, please remember to click the green accept button.

Relist: I still need help.
So what is the best way to deal with this kind of transaction? I felt being ripped off.I want to return the car. There was no deal at all regarding the price. How it was stated to me was so slick when I was told by the manager that he have a new deal when he said that he will cut me a check of $10,000.00 with zero downpayment. When he said that, there was no explanation that he will add $10,000.0 to the tag price because had he mentioned that to me, right there and then I will know that there is no difference at all since the price of the car will be the same, so there is no deal except that there will be no downpaymant ( which is not a big deal to me).
