Question

Minor child wrecked car of a private part

Sent to Legal Experts June 09, 2006 6:58 a.m.

My husband and 15 year old daughter stopped to look at used car for sale, the owner took my daughter for a ride, when they came back my 15 year old (no drivers license) was driving, when she pulled into the driveway she hit a tree. My husband nor myself since I was at work gave my minor child permission to drive, my husband just thought they were going for a ride and had no clue the owner of the vehicle would let her drive. No one was hurt but the vehicle. The owner says we are at fault(my daughter) and not her, I say its her fault, she knew my daughter had no drivers license. No police report was filed but she wants us to buy her car. She endangered my daughters life as well as her own. I don't let my daughter drive my car. Whos to blame here and what can I do to keep this owner of the vehicle from harrasing me?
