How long does it usually take for a individual labor

How long does it usually take for a individual labor law case to settle out of court in California? This is regarding overtime, meals and breaks. The Case was filed in June of 2007. Both parties have already gone before the Judge to disclose the status of the case.

The case has not gone to trial. So if one was to decide to settle, can they wait a whole year to settle?

I am aware of that. If they decide to settle out of court, what is the average time frame for settlement? I know you say there is no average time frame, but from what I understand in California regarding individual cases in Labor Law they do not like to drag them on, due to legal costs. So can you give me a rough estimate?
