The obligation or dity to clear sidewalks at a residence are significantly lower than for a business as those passing in front of your home are not "business invitees" to whom you owe a duty to protect. You owe only the duty to avoid creating or covering up any unreasonably dangerous threats to passersby. Also, your homeowners would cover any claims raised against you so you're likely well-protected.
