I have just recieved a judgement by default in an Illinois ...

I have just recieved a judgement by default in an Illinois small claims dispute due to the defendant not appearig on the apionted court date after recieving the summons. Is there any chance the defendant can file an appeal? When can I proceed with collection?

You can file the paperwork immediately to begin the collection process. Should they file an appeal that issue will be dealt with at that time, but since you were awarded the judgment, you have every right to begin immediate collection of that judgment.
