Question

I am in Easley, SC and am being accused of identity theft ...

Sent to Legal Experts December 06, 2007 7:49 a.m.

I am in Easley, SC and am being accused of identity theft by a former friend. He agreed to put cable services in my home (in his name). The services have been disconnected and there is a balance owed. We signed a Promissory agreement, outlining balance and date debt should be satisfied. I have made payment to him since the agreement was signed, and have receipts that he signed as well. He has now gone and filed a police report stating that I did this without his knowledge. He also states that the officer told him the Promissory agreement and receipts mean nothing and I could be facing charges. Is this correct? Due I have any recourse?
