filed police reports contacted the issuer and casher of the checks hired counsel who set up a payment plan with the person who defaulted call various lawyers whose specialty was defending the accused not the victim been told would cost to much to recovery the money and have been blown off,that about covers it

All you need to do is go to your local clerk of the courts and they will give you the proper filing papers for a small claims court action. You will fill these out and return them and pay a small fee for the other person to be served by the court. This will give a court notice and date. This is all you need to do. There are no many forms that you will need to fill out and you can represent yourself in court without an attorney. This type case is limited in amounts so check first to see if your under the amount for recovery. If so go forward.
