I live in Georgia and kept my checking account in Florida where a judgement has ordered a garnishment of my funds....am I not supposed to get something from the plaintiff once this action is taken? Also, my child support checks are part of this money that has been seized and also, being head of household-that that exempt me from such. Since I live in Georgia, I have been advised to file bankruptcy so that I can protect my wages from being garnished next....can you advise?
