WRONGFUL DISCHARGE?
Sent to Legal Experts August 14 06:04 PM

I was working for a contractor, running routes for a known delivery corp. He fired me one morning for suspicion of intoxication-on the spot. However, the company issues substance abuse handbooks to all new hires...one paragragh states that the company must have an individual trained to detect such issues and must send the suspected employee for bloodtest etc. first. the employer didn't know the manuel existed.. I HAVE ONE   I even requested a blood test and he refused.. do I have a case?

It appears you may have a case for wrongful termination as the employer must follow the policy handbook issued by the company, a failure to do so does not justify your firing. It would be best to speak with an employment law attorney to represent you. You should also discuss this issue with Human Resources to resolve the issue without the expense of legal process. If HR refuses to work with you, then seek legal counsel.
