A recorded easement that was granted in 1936 to a gas utility gives an incorrect Township making the easements location 6 miles off from where it actually is. Can an Affidavit be used and recorded to correct this error in the State of Indiana? If not, what is the correct procedure? Thank You.

Generally, a Municipality has the power to adopt a resolution to correct a typographical error in a utility easement. the first step may be to speak to the landowner. The second step is to raise the issue with the appropriate city counsel or board of governors.
