My husbands boss is extremely abusive. He sought out my husband moved us out here to Ohio a little over a year ago. My husband had triple bypass surgery 2 years ago. This new man named John was trying to get cheap health insurnace for his company. When he found out that my husband had bypass surgery 2 years ago he started putting more and more stress on him daily. I also work for this man. He screams and swears and yells constantly at the managers and my husband. I told my husband months ago that he was trying to force him out. On July 25, 2007 John called a manangers meeting and had the Corporate Franchise Consultant there as well. John goes into these fits of rage when he has meetings. He was screaming and yelling and swearing at them when the franchise Consultant told him to calm down before he has a heart attack. John replied "I am not going to have a heart attack but I am going to cause someone else to." John is now telling my husband he is going to cut his pay because he is too expensive and he is costing him too much money. They have an agreement that John put together before he hired my husband. John has never treated my husband as a partner. The Pizza franchise is not going as well as John was told it would do by the parent company. My husband has over 30 years experience in this business and has done extremely well. John however has zero knowledge of how to run the business. John has zero people skills. On August 14, 2007 I had to take my husband to Rochester, NY to see his doctor because he has been having chest pains for over a month. The doctor advised him to look for another job. I had to take him back to Rochester, NY on August 20, 2007 for a stress test. We have witnesses that heard John make this comment about causing someone to have a heart attack. Is there anything we can do about this mess? John is trying to get him to quit so he does not have to pay him unemployment or his health insurnace. There is a female manager who is going out for surgery this weekend and will be out for 6 weeks. John told my husband to fire her before she goes so he does not have to pay her vacation pay. That is the kind of man John is. My husband told him if he fires her she can sue him. If he fires or cuts my husbands pay we will lose everything. What can we do? I was told that my husband can claim workmans comp because the doctor told him that he can no longer do this job. Is that true? I am sure John will fight that too. Another employee fell at work and John had a fit because he saw the doctor and claimed workmans comp. John said it is the home owners responsibility to pay his medical bills not John. I can't take much more and my husband is getting ill from the stress. HELP!

I had sent an email to a labor attorney and he gave me a whole different answer than you have. I guess I need to contact a labor attorney.

What do we do now that the man has forced my husband to quit. My husband gave him 6 weeks notice and has worked almost everyday. His last day is Friday the 28th. John owes him $606.00 expense money, two weeks pay which will be paid the 5th of Oct, two weeks vacation pay that John told him he would get and we are still waiting for and 2% of the companies worth. We now have no health insurance and no money to buy his medication. We have to move this weekend and relocate to live with our son. How are we going to get the money that is owed to us? If we leave the state of Ohio is he still responsible for our money? Because he moved us out here under false pretenses can he be held responsible for our relocation? He has never lived up to his end of the bargain. He told my husabnd that he would be making up to $1000 a month bonus annd he has made not one red dime. He is trying to drive us into the ground and he is doing a great job of it. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
