My company has just put together a new handbook stating we are at will employees. I am 50 and a day one employee who was recently diganosed with arthritis in the palms of my hand that will require surgery to remove the bone spors to help eliviate the pain.
Can they fire me tomorrow when if sign this new form?

Yes, once you become an "at-will" employee you can be fired tomorrow for any reason so long as you are not being fired based on age discrimination or other protected class under the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. By also being an "at-will" employee, you are also given the right to leave without giving notice and for any reason.

If you are currenly a contract employee then you can refuse to sign this form to change your status and then the employer can only terminate you only as per the terms of the contract. However, in general most employment relationships are considered "at-will" regardless if you have ever signed an "at-will" acknowledgment form or not.
