If I pay a reception hall for a certain number of meals / bottles of wine, is it legal for the reception hall to keep extra meals / unopened bottles of wine if some guests can't make it to the reception?

Hi,

Generally this is discussed in the contract. If there was no contract or no stipulation as to who kept the left overs then you would be entitled to the unused items.

If they are refusing to return them or refuse a refund on the unused items you can take them to small claims court and request a refund of the unused items or the paid for items be returned.
