I own a towing company and up until last Friday we were the contracted company for the city towing and storage, impound, contract. The first part of April the Police brought in a vehicle to put in the auction stating it was a seized vehicle. That evening I looked over the vehicle with the intention of purchasing, nothing that hasnt been done 100 times before. While doing so I found a camera I put everything back the way I found it and parked the vehicle. day of the auction the police removed the vehicle. I took the company over 2 years ago. Cont. business as it was so I would not rock the boat too much. Began by spending the majority of this time cleaning up the lot, improving communications, expediting scene arrival and departure times, cleaned up the staff and the vehicles performance 100%.
was apparent to me that the working mgr and imp. coord. were close, a year ago I let him go, to many discrepancies.clarified things with coordinator. In December I met with the administration, was met with overwhelming praise. 3 months later I've been given a ticket mistomeaner, tampering, wasnt even out of the station and a press release was issued, taken away the contract. Have to appear on ticket, Can I be found guilty?

Optional Information:
des moines, Iowa

Already Tried:
Have not done anything yet..however, was told that if I removed myself from day to day operations and put another employee who has been with co. before I took over then the contract could be saved. I informed them I would not, I did nothing wrong. They inform me all was done because of complaints of stealing of which To my knowledge there have been two incidents and both were settled. When I ask for info on accusers I receive nothing. I go the court on Friday

Any criminal complaint includes the element of "intent." If you did not intend to do anything except your business, it would be exceedingly difficult to make those charges stick. You have a great defense. Get a lawyer. This one goes away.
