can i get out of a 6 month house rental contract ...

can i get out of a 6 month house rental contract without losing my deposit ,the landlord has failed to carry out repair work as promised and also our bank paid the rent twice in one month and it took 8 days to get a refund from the landlord , do these constitutute a breech of contract on his part.?
