2 you are at an auction gallery for an art auction. There is a person walking around with a magnifying glass and a book call "all the Art That's Worth Collecting". They are examining a picture and checking the references in the book. They say, "This is a great find and is worth a lot of money". Based on their opinion, you buy the painting for $25,000. You take it to a specialist who tells you that it is not worth more than $800. is there any legal remedy against the gallery or the person with the book (not associated with the gallery?
3 the situation is George agreed to sell his house to Helen all she is entitled to be $25,000. They signed a contract that specified liquidated damages of $25,000 against either party if they breached.
The questions about this situation are
A. George refuses to sell and tells Helen all she is entitled to be $25,000. Does Helen have any other option? What?
B. George decided he did not want to sell and called Helen. He told her he would return the deposit, plus 10% if she would release him. Helen said, “I will think about it “. The next day George mailed Helen a check for $27, 500 marked “deposit and cancellation”. Helen cashed the check, bought a similar house for $300,000 and wants to sue George for damages. What are her rights at this point?
