My husband and I filed bankruptcy in 1999. At the time, we listed every creditor on our credit reports. Today, I received a call from a collection agency regarding a JCPenney credit card that 'they say' my husband had, that had a $350 balance on it. We have NEVER heard from them before, and to be honest, I do not know if he ever really had that card. It has never been listed on our credit report that I know of. I just looked up on the bankrupcty papers and do not see it listed. Now what do we do? Can they NOW start collecting on something that is 12years old, without contactingus before? Why isnt it on our credit? and can they ADD it to our credit report now, after 12 years?
